“Ahm, my, Wer-sama… To think you would come all this way to see me!"

"No, it's an annual party, and Dan’na-sama was present last year when he was still fat."

The man in black replies, to the red-haired girl wearing an ecstatic expression on her face, letting out a hot breath staining her cheeks, with a dumbfounded tone of voice.

He definitely didn’t come to see you, he expresses only through a glance.

But the girl, as if she hadn't heard him at all, wiggled her body with the feverish enraptured face of a maiden in love.

"I'm sure he must be feeling lonely since he hasn't seen me for a while!"

"No, it's a normal thing to attend a royal invitation."

Even if she hadn't heard him, the man must have felt compelled to say it.

He instantly pointed out the contradictions in the girl's words.

"I'm a sinful woman for bothering Wer-sama's hand…"

"… Dan’na-sama said he'd rather work than party because it's too troublesome though."

The man who calmly muttered to the girl while giving her a dumbfounded stare, even though his face was hidden by a cloth, finally began to turn his gray-silver eyes somewhere far away from here when he realized that the girl was not listening to his words at all.

"Ah, you silly, Wer-sama, you just looked at me now.

No, no, no, Wer-sama, you have to concentrate on the party!

“Uhm, you're imagining things, Dan’na-sama is not even looking at you."

As the man in black said, the place where they are right now is above the party venue, behind the ceiling.

As such, they are looking down through a hole small enough for a finger to pass through.

The reason they are in such a place is to protect their own lords.

In case something unforeseen happens, which should never happen.

There were other shadowy figures hired by various noblemen in this place, although no one had yet noticed that they were also there because their skills were too advanced.

These people all have the same goal.

Outwardly.

Their secret purpose was to gather information.

The shadows never assassinate nobles because they are not allowed to do anything other than gathering information and guarding the castle.

Why is that?

Simply because the shadows who serve the royal family have outstanding abilities.

They were called “Shinku" because they all had blood-red hair and eyes.

When the country was founded, it’s not as if there were no assassinations, but the royal family caught the culprits and purged them.

According to hearsay, it was the first Shinku who exposed the villains.

Since then, there has been a deep-rooted perception that assassinations in the royal castle do not work, no matter how well you plan, and no matter how many times you try, you are just risking your own life in the dark.

This had become an unspoken rule in the underworld as well, and the royal castle had now become a place for the shadows to socialize or for newcomers to make their debut.

Perhaps I would be able to catch a glimpse of the legendary Shinku descendant.

With such faint hopes, there is no end to the number of people who sneak into the royal castle to gather information while on business.

However, the reality is that the best of the best, both as secret agents and assassins, are not so easy to find, and only rumors prevail.

The black-clad man couldn't help but wonder why such a person was standing beside him and looking at his master like a maiden in love.

However, it was instinctive for those who belonged to the demon category to find their lord attractive, so he knew it couldn't be helped.

That night, as a result of gathering information with his lord, he found out that Shinku was a demon called vampire.

He was very curious as to why someone from such a race would be working as a shadow in a human country, but for him, as long as there was no harm to his master, he didn't care about anything else, so he completely ignored it.

Love is blind. It's not love, though.

“But that is to say Wer-sama is so wonderful"

"Ah, uhm, I agree with you there."

The figure of his lord as he walked through the hall with such dignity and grace, looked divine enough to the man, that he would even worship him.

This was the reason for his serious agreement.

"The blue eyes, the cold gaze... Really nice. ...... It's like a painting when he dresses it up…"

"… As expected of Dan’na-sama, it's different for a party after all."

If anyone was listening to the conversation, they would have thought that the painting was a scene from a story in which a villain appeared.

The figure of the man’s lord was domineering from any angle.

"I want to kill that snob for the way he treats Wer-sama."

“Uhm, I understand that very much.

But you have to get permission from Dan’na-sama to do so, which is a shame."

The man again agreed in a serious tone of voice with the girl who muttered as if to spit out, without even hiding her disgust, as she had seen something truly disgusting.

"I'm not sure why Wer-sama only used that much verbal abuse…"

“I’m sure Dan’na-sama has his own ideas."

“Ah... How jealous I am, I want to be abused and cut into pieces with that cold look in my eyes…:

"Oh my God, that's disgusting."

The man showed a serious rejection to the girl's words and actions, as she muttered enchantingly.

It was a heartfelt whisper with a completely straight face.

Who would have thought that one of the Shinku would be such a pervert?

The man in black closes his grayish-silver eyes with a sigh, thinking only that he hopes the few other Shinku who are supposed to be there are decent people.

In the birthplace of the man’s lord, such thoughts are called flags, but of course, the man has no way of knowing that.

"Oh my god, he's really something, he can do that to a king…"

“Eh?"

He opened his closed eyes at the girl's words and hastily checked the situation downstairs, revealing a startling fact.

"... What are you doing, Dan’na-sama?"

He muttered unintentionally, but this is likely something unavoidable.

The man's eyes caught a glimpse of his lord holding the face of the king of this country with one hand.

Now, let's check the current situation.

Let's see, when I came to the party, I ended up grabbing the king's face with one hand.

Why.

Let me say it again.

Why.

On his head was a lavishly crafted crown with a red gem at its center.

It was whitish gold, so it might be made of platinum or something like that.

The hair on his head is a beautiful silver.

A perfect silver that could not be considered white.

The hair is straight and strong.

It was just right, like the kind of hair most men have.

His face was different from Augusto-san's, more of a strong aesthetic.

I think Augusto-san's face is more on the thin side of beauty.

When he was young, he was probably so beautiful that you could barely tell his gender by his physique.

The king, on the other hand, is an orthodox beauty.

When he was young, he must have looked like a prince.

As he got older, he became more dignified, more relaxed, and more mature.

His eyes were a beautiful amethyst color, I think.

His age was about the same as Augusto-san's, so it was hard to say that he was nice middle-aged¹.

In my personal opinion, the term "nice middle-aged" is appropriate for people in their fifties.

Augusto-san doesn't look good with a beard, but the king looked very good.

I think he is a little bit shorter than Augusto-san, just a couple of centimeters.

He's got me grabbing his face, though, so everything is ruined.

His beard is prickly.

I mean, in terms of aristocratic etiquette, it's going to stay like this until the other side talks to me, right?

Oh, by the way, there's no sound at the moment!

I can't hear the buzzing, the music, or anything else as if time has stopped!

Everyone around me is staring at me blankly! Uhm!

Don't look at me, someone help me.

No, no, wait, what am I supposed to do with this?

My head is in a state of confusion, and my body is completely rigid.

But my mind was still trying to figure out what to do, what the best thing to do was, and I was just trying to strategize.

Why don't I just fire off some magic here?

Then it won't have happened, will it?

No no no, I can't do that, the king will die.

In fact, the castle might blow up.

Uhm, no thanks.

Oh, is this the time for transfer magic?

No, it's no use running away now, right?

I'm sure it'll be a disaster later. I'll be beheaded.

I think I'll just blow up the castle.

I'm not sure what to do, but I'm not sure what to do.

Oh, but then Shitsuji-san and Onmitsu-san might get caught up and die, too. No, way.

I don't even want to imagine what on earth it would look like to the people around me.

"Well, Werstein-sama, it's been a while."

Suddenly, smiling gracefully, a queen-like Oba- Onee-san walked gracefully towards me, calling out to me.

Unlike the crown on the king's head, the tiara seemed to be made of pink gold and glittered in the light.

In the center was a red jewel, the same as in the king's crown.

The hair on her head was platinum blonde, a more subdued color than that of a blonde.

The hair of that color was tied up in a braided pattern and tied behind his head.

Her eyes were light blue with droopy features.

When she was young, she must have been approached by many men and ducked them with a smile of an older woman.

Her proportions are excellent, with no sagging whatsoever.

The high-necked, ruffled, revealing dress was a very elegant pale pink with silver thread roses and pearls accenting the roses.

Up close, it's very beautiful and elegant.

I don't know, I basically have no vocabulary, so I can only say something like that in a situation like this, what should I do?

"I'm sorry for the state of affairs, Your Highness.

It is Augusto, head of the Werstein duchy."

Inwardly, I was in a panic and I thought I wouldn't be able to come up with any lines because my mind was completely blank, but such a reply came out of my mouth naturally.

As expected of Augusto-san.

"Oh, you won't call me Lily like you did back then?"

Onee-san tilted her head, looking somewhat disappointed.

It's a wonder that you can go from beautiful to adorable in one fell swoop when you do that.

I'm sure you'd love to become a lovely grandmother.

I was thinking about it very seriously inside, but then I suddenly realized.

Hmm? ...... Huh? Wait a minute, isn't the king being ignored?

Is that okay? Are you sure you want to keep talking about this? Also, I don't know anything about those days, what should I do?

“I’m afraid I’ve gotten a little too old to call you that."

I really appreciated the fact that I was able to ad-lib my lines even in such an incomprehensible situation.

However, I was a little, no, a lot on edge not knowing what I would say.

But I guess I'll just have to live with it for now.

“Oh goodness, aren't me and Werstein-sama the same age?"

I felt like I stopped for a moment when I heard those words from the lady who was smiling at me.

Ehh?

Ehh!?

Wait a minute, you're the same age!?

Oh, so Augusto-san and the king are about the same age, and the king and the queen are about the same age, so Augusto-san is about the same age as you, is that it!

It's a matter of course when you think about it normally, but it's a bad thing because the contents are me.

In this case, it's not because I'm stupid, but because I'm young.

Definitely, ... Perhaps, ...... Probably, ......... I'm sure.

“Huhm, that’s right, isn’t it.

The queen is always so youthful, I've lost track of the fact that we're the same age."

I say it in a matter-of-fact manner as if it were only obvious.

In this kind of situation, if you say it outright, you won't be found out!

I was smiling smugly inwardly, and the Onee-san laughed uncontrollably.

"Oh my! You're very good. I wish my Dan’na-sama² could learn from you.”

"... Hmm, speaking of Dan’na-sama…"

When I shifted my gaze, I saw that the king's face was still held in my hands.

He's flailing around and grunting about something, but... Hey Onee-san, what should I do about this?

When I stopped mid-sentence with such nuance, she clapped her hands with an expression that said she had finally remembered.

"Oh, right, I have another room for you. Please, let me show you."

She smiled gracefully and started to walk away, probably to show me the way.

But, hey.

"... Queen?"

Wait a minute, that's not it, Onee-san. Do something about this situation.

When I made a dubious sound while trying my best to include such a nuance, she giggled innocently with a smile on her face like a child who has successfully played a prank.

“Ufufu, I know.

I'm sure he's feeling sorry for himself by now. Please let him go."

I was finally able to let go of his face when she said those words in a joyful manner, but... I think I'm going to my head and will fly for doing something like this to the king...

The word fly, in this case, is not a metaphor or anything, but the literal meaning.

Hhm, it will fly, no matter how I think about it.

I'm going to do my best, but I don't know what will happen, so I'll just say a greeting.

Goodbye, body.

Thinking about this, I quickly let go of my hand.

“Buhah! I saw a somato³ for a moment there, Werstein- koshaku!"

Ah, it’s bad to have held the king to the point he almost died, as I thought a death penalty, a death penalty, isn’t it.

Uhm, it's usually the death penalty.

"Well, well, it's your own fault for suddenly trying to hug Werstein-sama, Your Majesty."

In contrast to me, who was on the verge of giving up on the future of my life, Onee-san was somehow calmly blaming the king.

The king himself groaned a little but seemed somewhat convinced.

"That may be true, but…"

"It's not that it might be true, but it is. Would you mind behaving yourself?"

"Mmm! I'll take handle you carefully from now on."

The king says straightforwardly, with a smug look on his face.

Handling carefully.

To take appropriate measures.

Example: "I will take good care of it according to the circumstances."

General meaning → I will do my best.

Wait a minute, where did your dignity go?

“No way, please keep the promise if you can."

"Hahaha! I’m not very confident!"

The king laughs cheerfully, but the queen sighs slightly in exasperation.

"No, please don't say that with so much confidence."

"I don't have a choice. It's a reunion with a childhood friend."

"Oh, my God, you're always like a child!"

The queen smiled resignedly as if saying it can’t be helped and looked at the king with an affectionate gaze.

It seems that the king and queen are the perfect couple.

Wait a minute, Augusto-san and the king are childhood friends?

Searching my memory again, I found some memories of the king.

Since the details are an invasion of Augusto-san's privacy, to summarize it very simply, it seems that the dukes and the kings are related, and since they are the same age, their parents arranged for them to get along.

It seems that the two of them grew up as a set, almost from the age of six or so, to become best friends and confidants.

'Augusto! Your name is kind of hard to say! You can use my authority to change your name!'

'What are you talking about, Your Highness?'

'You should abbreviate it to something easier to call you, like Christopher!'

'That's the name of your mother's, the queen's dog, Your Highness.'

Such a joyful voice reverberated in my head.

It seems that the two of them were so close that they could joke about such an exchange.

How can I say this... it can't be beaten.

The next moment, the king lightly adjusted his body shape and turned his serious gaze to me, which had changed from the previous moment.

“…Werstein- koshaku, we have a lot to talk about, can you please come with me?"

Oh, that's right after all huh, in the end, I’m summoned.

There’s no way it can be finished with this huh-.

It’s no good, I think I might die again.

"As you wish."

When the time comes, I'll make full use of my sage specs and run away to a place where no one is around.

With this in mind, I made an aristocrat's bow towards nobility.

And I was led by musuko-san, who was nearby, to a separate room prepared by the king, feeling like a calf to be sold.

This is what it feels like to be a cow being slaughtered, isn't it?

I wouldn't have been able to come up with such a difficult word as slaughter, but you know your stuff, don't you, Augusto-san? That's great.

While I was escaping from reality, a maid, or a woman who looked like one, placed a teacup in front of me, right where I was sitting, and then left.

She must have been really nervous because she was shaking a little.

Thank you for coming all this way.

Well, we're in the middle of a party now, so I guess it's actually the right thing to serve alcohol, but maybe, from what I remember, this is Augusto-san's preference.

As for me, I would not be able to react if I were suddenly served alcohol, so I feel grateful.

By the way, this is a private room where the royal family takes a break when they are tired of partying.

According to Augusto-san's memory, he used to talk about various things with the king in this room.

The room had a calm atmosphere with simple furniture.

The base colors are brown, black, and white, so I think it is correct to call it a chic atmosphere.

Well, it's big enough for a family of five to live in, and it's well equipped.

Also, I'm sure all this furniture and equipment cost an eye-popping amount of money for the average person!

Uhm, this isn't a private room anymore, is it?

By the way, musuko-san is currently waiting outside this room, in front of the door, under the guise of guarding us.

Well, he's a Knight Commander, so it can't be helped.

Even though I was trying to escape such a reality, the situation with the king and his wife in front of me across a round table with seating for about five people made even my nerves, which have a reputation for being thick, feel tense as if they were about to fray.

I want to be stress-free.

Thinking seriously, I picked up the teacup in front of me and sipped it.

Oh, this tea is so delicious.

I wonder if they use more expensive tea leaves than the ones I've been drinking at the mansion.

The tea that the shitsuji-san makes is delicious, but the expensive tea leaves are just as delicious, I guess.

"Well... It's been a really long time, Augusto."

I was thinking about tea as a way of escaping reality, but now that the king was talking to me, I couldn't do that anymore.

At any rate, I guess I need to answer something.

Something like, um, um, um, yeah, okay.

"... As far as I remember, we met three months ago when His Highness the First Prince was celebrating his twelfth birthday."

Wasn't the First Prince a potential fiancé of meikko-chan?

I went to greet the prince, and I remembered that he treated me very badly, but I also remembered that the king apologized to me afterward.

Well, Augusto-san was a magnificent pig back then, wasn't he?

However, I don't think he's a suitable fiancé for meikko-chan, the prince.

He seems to have a twisted personality.

The king looked at me with an indescribably sad expression, as if he had seen something tragic.

“… However, you were not sane, is that not so?"

Eh, what, do I look like such a painful person? I thought about it for a moment, but such words from the king convinced me that, oh, he’s a serious person, I see.

At any rate, I'll try to deceive you here while mixing the truth as well.

“That, is it perhaps, my apologies.

To be honest, my memory of the past 12 years is a little fuzzy."

It's not that it's fuzzy, it's just that it won't come out unless I try really hard to remember! Memory!

"Oh, I see…"

The king muttered with a sad expression as if it was about himself.

As the content of a complete stranger, I was extremely uncomfortable.

For now, I'll follow up. Hang in there, me!

"Your Majesty, please rest assured.

Due to a drastic lack of memory, my memories of Your Majesty are a bit vague, but I'm sure it won't be a problem for me to carry on as a duke in the future."

"Wait, Augusto"

"What's the matter?"

I don't know what's going on, but he called me out of the blue.

"Lack of memory?"

"That is correct."

When I affirmed, the king's expression became even more sorrowful than before.

In addition, the queen also looks very sad.

Yes, I seem to have misspoken!

But if I don't tell her that I don't remember anything, I don't know where it will come out! It's best to take precautions!

"Your Majesty…"

The queen snuggled up to the king with a tearful expression.

I'm really embarrassed that I made you look like that.

I feel so sorry for myself.

"... Umm, Augusto, can you answer a question of this Stylhang?"

Then, as if prompted by the queen, the king nodded quietly and asked as if he had made up his mind.

"If it is within my power to answer."

As for me, I had no choice but to answer.

"Then... Well, hmm, now that you mention it, where should I start?"

"Please, as you wish."

For the time being, I'll put aside this apology and do my best to answer if it will reduce the possibility of me being beheaded in the future!

I don't show it outwardly at all, or rather, I think it would be wrong if I did, so I act perfectly "normal," but only inwardly with such enthusiasm.

However, the king seemed to be in some kind of doubt and didn't want to say anything at all.

When my enthusiasm seemed to be waning, the king opened his mouth again, as if he had finally gathered his thoughts.

"... First of all, I should say that I'm glad you're back.

According to the report, you have become a wise man.... Is that true?"

Apparently, the content of the report was to thank me and confirm it.

Well, I guess the main question I want to ask is about the latter.

Now I have proof that the pervert was a member of the royal family, just like Onmitsu-san said.

After all, the only people who knew that I'm a wise man were that pervert and ojichan.

Ojichan seemed to want to keep the connection between me and him a secret, so it was that pervert who told the king.

It's not that I'm hiding the fact that I'm a sage, but I'm not open about it, and I don't think most people would even think about it.

Wise men are rare.

"That’s the case if the person who reported it is not mistaken."

The king looked a little curious when I answered plainly.

"Why do you speak as if talking about someone else?"

No, because, you know?

“My apologies, Your Majesty. But I'm afraid, I didn’t have much time to take it in either"

I don't really know what kind of position a sage is in.

I know it's rare because they're amazing and there are very few of them, but I don't know how amazing they are at all.

Even if I'm told that I'm on the verge of becoming a god, there are several other people like me, so how great is that? I don't know.

I don't feel it, and I don't know it!

Although it’s about myself, how troublesome!

Maybe it's because I feel as if it's someone else's problem, and as a result, I don't have any sense of crisis at all, which I think is my fault.

Well, that's what I'm thinking, but on the outside, I look a little troubled, but with a solemn attitude.

The king nodded his head in agreement and then opened his mouth with an expression of conviction.

"Hmm, I see.

Now, let's talk about the lack of memory... Poison?"

Well, there's no way that pervert didn't know the reason for Augusto-san's collapse, right?

It's her job, after all.

"I'm not sure if that’s why my memory is fuzzy. But I think you're probably right."

Well, Augusto-san died because of the poison, so I thought it's not entirely wrong to reply so.

"So, do you know who did it?"

“Yes."

That is if the information I got from Onmitsu-san is correct!

As soon as I answered, the king laughed.

"Well, I guess he didn't expect that the person he planted poison on would turn him into a wise man."

“It’s quite ironic"

After answering the question with a gesture of agreement, I suddenly thought.

"... By the way, Your Majesty, I would like to ask you a question as well."

“Try me"

I asked him, and he just kind of gave a OK.

Then, I'll ask him without hesitation.

"Who the hell is the person who reported this?"

It seems that thanks to that pervert, I was able to save my life, but wisemen can only become wise once they have died, right?

So does that mean that there is something that can bring back the dead?

“Towards these things even this king does not know.

Most likely, we’ll be fooled as they claim that it was thanks to a secret antidote of theirs."

"… Oh is that so?"

That's a bad pattern. This just adds to the mystery.

... Well, it's kind of weird to worry about perverts, so I'll just stop.

Let it be, let it.

"But when I heard that you collapsed, I got cold feet."

“... I'm sorry to have caused you so much worry."

Anyone would be scared if their childhood friend fell like that.

For some reason, the king had a serious expression on his face as he bitterly argued with me when I apologized anyway, despite such conviction.

"No, I'm the one who needs to apologize."

He said that to me in a bitter and regretful way, but uhm.

What are you saying all of a sudden, King?

"What are you saying, Your Majesty?"

"No, let me apologize."

What's wrong with this king? He's so stubborn.

"But you have nothing to apologize to me for."

"No, being a wise man means that you have died once.

That means that this Stylhang was unable to protect Augusto."

Hmm... I'm starting to get a bad feeling here?

Well, the pervert's job was to guard and watch over me.

It was the king who gave the order, which means he wanted to protect Augusto-san.

Uhm, I have a bad feeling about this.

“To have let your wife die for the sake of the country, and on top of that let you lose your life as well, is not something a king should do.”

The king looked away from me, turned and hung his head.

Oh no, this might be confirmed.

“...Your Majesty, I know it's rude, but I'd like to say one thing."

"…… Let me hear"

Since the king seemed to have given me permission to answer in a frustrated and pained manner, I would like to say it without reservation.

"Are you stupid?"

“Huh?"

Perhaps because it was unexpected, the king looks at me with a very dumb expression, raising his head and opening his mouth.

No, because, hey?

It's not the king's responsibility, no matter how you think about it.

No matter how much you owe, you normally shouldn't worry about such things.

It's understandable that you wanted to protect Augusto-san.

But there is such a thing as self-responsibility.

That means that the king was overprotective of Augusto-san to protect him.

That means.

“It’s because you do such things, that the old me took advantage and started to do as I please."

It was the king's fault that Augusto-san had become such a pig.

"No, but, you know, it's entirely our fault. ……"

I was annoyed with the king who was still trying to say something.

"You're still arguing. I don't remember asking you to do that.

I don't want you to take the blame for something that should be entirely my responsibility."

Don't do that to a grown man, protecting him or something. You're an idiot, King.

You're a working adult, don't take care of me like a parent!

“…But even if you say that... you're holding a grudge, aren't you?"

“Eeh, I do have a grudge."

“As I thought…"

"I do have a grudge against the man who started that war."

Because he's the one who caused it.

"But the decision to fight was made…"

"Yes, it was His Majesty, wasn't it? But that's a result.

It's not you who should be blamed."

“But…!"

I guess his thoughts could not catch up with the suddenness of the situation.

The king tried to argue further with an indescribably complicated expression on his face.

But let me wrap it up for you.

"I know what you mean. A king is a man who is responsible for everything.

But then, why do you have vassals?"

"That is…"

"Sometimes they admonish, sometimes they support, sometimes they protect. That's what the books say about being a vassal.

If so, why didn't you cut me off when I became a fool?"

Normally, such useless subordinates should be the first to be discarded.

But this king ignored it and acted to protect Augusto-san, following his own emotions.

The result was that ugly pig of a man.

"There's no way I can do it! A king still has feelings and personality!"

"Even more so! Why did you leave me in such a state?"

"I didn't leave you! I wasn't neglecting you! I'm watching over you so that I can help you at any time…!"

The king's words, delivered in a sad voice, confirmed my thoughts that I didn't want to be right.

Oh, this sucks, this king.

... Yes, it's funny, because if you were monitoring him, then everything that Augusto-san did, his thoughts, and everything else, was known to the king after he hired that pervert, right?

That's what it means, isn't it?

"How is that different from neglect?

... I just thought it was odd, with such sloppy paperwork, how it hasn't been an annual problem.

You've been turning a blind eye to it, haven't you, King?"

"No! I've read through the documents properly and covered up any discrepancies…"

“...In other words, you've been cheating, haven't you?

“… ‘Cause otherwise I’d have no choice but to crush the Werstein family!"

Don't say 'cause! I mean, why is the king increasing my chances of being beheaded and making me even stronger! Stop it!

I mean, someone stop him!

"Idiot! If it's going to be a burden on the people, you should've just crushed it!"

"Why? It's all my fault, there’s no reason for Augusto to be sacrificed!"

Wait a minute, this king is calling himself “boku”!!

Eh, is this his true nature!?

A/n: The name of a king, sometimes means cliff.

[1] : ナイスミド(Naisumidoru) - attractive middle-aged man

[2] : 旦那様 - as I said before that it can it’s being used as husband here

[3] : 走馬灯 - revolving lantern, this is used similar to the phrase 走馬灯のように駆け巡る(soumatou no youni kakeme guru) - revolving like a lantern(somatou) which means for something to flash before one's eyes (memories, etc.)

[4] : とさつ(tosatsu) - slaughter (of animals for meat), butchery

[5] : 僕 - boyish version of I or me in Japanese. Which btw originates from the words 下僕 (geboku) - manservant and 公僕(koboku) - public servant. It’s also used as a second-person pronoun to refer to small boys.
